My rating: 5 of 5 stars

"A frank, unsparing, meticulous account of a life lived entirely on impulse, for pleasure, and for kicks" - Time
This quote perfectly describes this book. Whether it’s “Spigot Blister…”, or “…Masters of Mayhem”, Fuerte, Poco, Flaco “…Faces”, “…hem” “…This”, The Rainbow, “Nina’s Song”, “The 3 little butt hairs”, being in one of Spin’s first issues, the donning of the socks, cosmic love & funky friendship, feeling well when you listen to The Red Hot Chili Peppers, or being the foundation for funky friendship across the land, this book never fails to entertain and it never fails to perfectly describe every important moment in Anthony Kiedis’s life! Starting with his family history and how he was created, going into L.A., Spider, a fake address, that address causing problems, meeting two of his best friends for life, the disastrous ski trip, girls, drugs, Cole, starting The Red Hot Chili Peppers, being Freaky Styley, F.L.A.B., Hillel, being “Knocked Down”, the Blood Sugar house, a Deep Kick because It’s Californication, and By The Way his dog never seeing him in a certain state, this book tells pretty much his whole story ending in 2005 and not including everything after 2005.
This book is a great read, and it has changed my life! The way Anthony tells his story is almost as if it was all a big long joke, and as if it never matters. His point of view is a great angle, and it is very entertaining. His encounters with women, drugs, and his best friends are great sometimes tragic stories, but he seems to have an optimistic way of telling them. His meticulous accounts are riveting, “thoughtful, candid, and entertaining”-GQ, and Mean Street says, “If there ever lived a guy with enough material to fill an irresistible tell-all biography, It’s Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis.
No matter how you put it, Scar Tissue is an amazing tell all story of a life known as Anthony Kiedis!
